I love summer. And around this time of year, I’m always begging time to slow way down. Yet, my love of fashion causes me to always take a peep at what Nordstrom has to offer for fall. Fall fashion in this sale is usually new items or continued items from the previous year that are still trending for the upcoming fall season. This is also a way to get great closet staples or classic items discounted that will serve you in well in years to come.
If you love fall and fashion, it is easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of this sale. However, remember this will not be the only sale on fall clothing at Nordstrom. Some years, I shop the sale, but there are years I don’t. It really just depends on budget, needs, and how organized I am looking ahead.
I thought it would be fun to first put together a few style inspiration boards featuring sale items. Then, I found a few fun surprises that work now for summer.
Reminder – Many of these items I have not been able to check out personally but look great online. I will point out a few of the items included I already have and love.
Chocolate Brown is Still Trending
Chocolate brown is still very much everywhere for 2026. You find it in everything from jewelry to bags to clothing and shoes. This cashmere short sleeve sweater comes in other colors too. I also love these chocolate brown loafers with the gold hardware.
The Color Green Will be Big This Fall
I recently ordered some SOFFT sandals that are so cute and comfortable. So, I’m betting these SOFFT slingbacks are super comfortable too. The green is really pretty, but they come in other color choices too.
Another great slingback shoe is the Naturalizer Banks pumps. I have a pair of these in a multicolor I got several years ago. They are quite pricey, so this sale is a perfect time to grab a pair. They are really comfortable for work, church, or any event where you might be on your feet a lot.
Wit & Wisdom jeans are a good affordable brand of jeans. And they are extra affordable during the Anniversary sale. I’m betting this classic straight style will be a best seller.
An Easy Fall Uniform
While everyone else is loving brown or lighter neutrals, my love for black in tops, sweaters, shoes, and accessories runs deep. I added some interest to the mostly monochromatic look above with this pretty jacket. I have an older barn style flannel jacket in my closet that is so warm. However, I would love to update it with this blue jewel button jacket that you could dress up or down.
CeCe brand at Nordstrom always has cute feminine tops. This short sleeve polo top is extra special!
I am so happy to see my black suede Blondo boots are included in the sale. I love these boots – read about them here. Also, I am a fan of Wit & Wisdom’s baby bootcut jeans. I’ve had these jeans in my closet for years. They are always on sale during the Anniversary sale.
Summer Into Fall Plus Other Favorites
Some surprises this year are how many raffia handbags are included in this year’s sale. When I think of raffia bags, I think summer! So, you could certainly get this pretty bag to wear now. Here’s another cute summer bag.
Also, my Tom wedges that briefly disappeared from retail stores have shown back up in this year’s sale! I love these comfortable shoes and wear them often. They are great for spring, summer, and fall. A few Birkenstocks are also on sale. And this block heel sandal can be worn now.
I have this Caslon tee in black that I wear a lot with jeans and shorts. It’s held up well so far and comes in lots of other colors.
And finally, these Mary Jane shoes with the pearl buckle are just so adorable. If I purchase anything for my closet from the sale, I really need one or two pairs of shoes for the season between sandals and boots. While I love the Mary Janes, I’m also considering this loafer or this one.
Below, I have a roundup of many items that caught my eye. Unfortunately, petite sizing in this year’s sale is limited. But I tried to find regular sized items that hopefully will fit. For instance, most of the jackets below don’t come in petite sizing but are cropped or shorter length.

Someone recently said to me that death is a beautiful thing after experiencing the loss of a dear friend. This statement really hit me off guard. When I think of death, it feels tragic, sad, scary, and lonely. And these feelings are certainly normal. Yet, as a follower of Jesus, I know it is certainly not the end! Death will indeed be the beginning of something beautiful beyond anything we can comprehend.
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Philippians 3:20-21
