All About Denim

Today, my look is all about denim.  I am seeing a lot of it for Spring, especially with dresses.  I thought I would style a denim look with a chambray shirt and jeans.

Most of my outfit is vintage, but I found tons of cute shirts with which you could create a similar look.  As I was finishing up this post, I received a notice that Loft is having a 40% off online sale with code OHGOODIE.  Here are more great tops included in the sale to complete this look.  This Loft Cap Sleeve Shirt is at a really great price!  This Loft Chambray Ruffle Cami and Knotted Halter Top are really cute also.  Here is a cute Chambray Off The Shoulder Top that would also complete the look.

I love my blue Toms wedges.  You may see me wear them often here on the blog!  Here are a couple of pairs that are very similar.  Toms Blue Chambray Wedges / Toms Slate Blue Washed Wedges / Toms Clarissa Wedge Sandals

I wore this Napier Flower Necklace in yesterday’s post as well.  It is a great piece that will go with everything.

Prayers For Our Elected Officials

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.  Mark 11:24

At least once a week in my devotional, I have felt lead to devote some time to the subject of prayer.  I have felt challenged lately to start expanding what I pray about each week.  I try to pray for my family each day and anyone I know who might have a specific need.  While all of this is very important and will continue, I think many times I neglect to pray for so many other things.  People I don’t know, situations out of our control, and this world we live in desperately need our prayers.  So, I will focus on something different to pray about each week.  I would love for each of you reading to join me and spend a little time praying for the person, people, or subjects of this weekly prayer devotional.

This week I going to start off by praying for our President, Vice-President, and Congressional leaders here in the United States.  I know I picked a touchy subject, but trust me that my intent is not to get into any political debates.  In fact, I want to include our elected officials at the state level and local level too.  It doesn’t matter who we voted for or how we feel about who has been elected to our country’s highest offices.  They all need our prayers!  They need our prayers just like our neighbor down the street does.  They need our prayers just like the family on the other side of the world does.  Whether you are happy with the leaders of our country or not, they were created by the same God who created each of us.  He loves them too.  He wants them to come to him, trust in him, and accept his Son as their Savior just as he expects of us.  We live in challenging times, and our leaders are dealing with very difficult decisions.  We need to pray that God will give them great wisdom as they lead within our country and outside it.  If you feel lead, please take some time throughout the week to pray for all of our elected officials.

  1. You’re right. All believers should be praying for our leaders. I admit I’ve been neglectful in that area. Thanks for encouraging prayer for them!

    1. I have strongly felt I needed to just do a post once a week on encouraging each of us to pray for something specific that we might otherwise not think to include in our prayer time. I know there are so many things I neglect to lift up in prayer also. If any of you have any thoughts on things we should include on our prayer lists, let me know.
