LuLaRoe Shirt

I have a cute, casual spring outfit to show you today.  I am wearing a LuLaRoe shirt that I have been wearing this winter with leggings.  It has such a fun pattern and also some green in it for St. Patrick’s Day.

My jeans are from American Eagle, and my black, lace up shoes are from TJ Maxx.  I am also wearing my gold statement neckless.  I love that it goes well with most any outfit.

I appreciate all of you who have taken time to read my blog today.  Please keep reading as I talk about feeling lonely, unpopular, and left out.  While we most often associate these feelings with being a teenager, adults of all ages can feel this way too.  I want to talk today about the One who always wants to know and spend time with you.

Dropping Names

Recently, Dressed In Faith was followed on a social media account by a pretty famous person.  I had come across this celebrity’s name, decided to follow him, and he followed me back.  I couldn’t believe it!  Everyday afterwards, I kept checking to see if he was still following me.  I noticed this celebrity had very few followers and was following some other non famous people like myself, so I doubled check to make sure this was who I thought it was.  It was and looked like he was just new to this social network.  Now, this person is a “he,” and I do write a blog geared toward women.  I thought maybe his wife had discovered my blog, or maybe, he really enjoyed the devotional section.  Whatever the reason, I was beyond excited!  This could be an opportunity for my blog to reach a much bigger audience.

Then about five days later, I checked my social media account to find he had stopped following me.  This celebrity had gained about a million followers of his own and now only followed other celebrities.  Now, I don’t have any hard feelings towards this person.  I am pretty new to social media, and my husband reminded me that it is likely he has someone else handle his account for him.  I also have no idea what celebrities have to put up with or go through living in the public’s eye.  I pretty much just laughed about the whole thing, yet I must admit deep down I felt a little disappointed.

This made me start reflecting on some things I had to deal with growing up and that have even carried over into adulthood.  I grew up a very lonely, shy, and awkward preacher’s daughter.  The fact is, there are some unrealistic expectations and unfair stereotypes often placed on preachers kids.  We moved around a lot which made making many friendships and certainly any lasting ones impossible.  I was not a popular kid.  In fact, I felt like I was hardly noticed.  Today, I am still not the most popular person around, though I certainly have some good friends.  I am not the one everyone comes running up to speak with when entering a room.  I am still a little shy, and I don’t have a full social calendar.

Yet, I can tell you I am never alone, because Jesus wants to be right beside me.  I am most popular with Him.  He notices me and wants to know everything about me.  He wants to run up and speak with me whenever I walk into His presence.  He invites me to all His gatherings.  He loves me like no other.

I want to encourage all of you today who are feeling lonely or like you are hardly noticed.  You have a Savior Who loves you. You are number one to Him.  He is chasing after you and wants you to come into His presence.
