Hello friends! There are so many things going on behind the scenes here that I don’t know where to begin. I may have to do another Life Lately post again soon as I don’t want to make this one too long. I know I have been quiet and not posting recently. The “experts” in social media or content creation would say to just post again and not explain why you’ve been away or make it obvious. However, if you’ve been following along regularly, it’s very obvious when I’m quiet here.
While I know not everything needs an explanation (I tend to be an open book), I do want to let you in on what’s happening currently.
Many of you know I spent a couple of years recently dealing with ocular rosacea. Plus, it’s a condition that can’t be cured. It is just one of the things I deal with and “try” to keep under control. However, at the end of April/beginning of May, I thought it was flaring up for me again after many months of no problems with it. I suddenly got an under the skin acne-like cyst right below my eyebrow. At one point, my eyes were really swelling like they sometimes do with rosacea. It wasn’t very pretty. Ha! The under-skin cyst went away pretty quickly but left a little bump between my eyebrow and eyelid. Again, it was not very pretty, but honestly if I had taken some outfit pictures with it, you probably wouldn’t have noticed it.
Long story short, my dermatologist has removed it to be biopsied, and I hope it’s not cancerous. Even if it is, they said it is easily treatable, and I know everything will be okay. I’ve had other places over the years taken off to be biopsied. Thankfully, none were cancerous. I’ve also had family members deal with this numerous times too.
The thing is this spot is right next to/below the middle of my eyebrow. So, I have an open wound there that cannot be easily bandaged. The spot can definitely be seen now, and it was pretty gross looking. So, I’ve not been taking any pictures until it heals.
Plus, I’m a little worried if more needs to be removed around it, depending on the results of the biopsy, that it might possibly take out some or part of my eyebrow. I hope it doesn’t also affect my eyelid either! Anyway, I don’t have any results back yet. The initial funny looking spot was very small. I know this is not the end of the world – things could be so much worse. I’m just hoping it comes back as nothing.
We’ve also got a nice family beach vacation planned this year. Thankfully, it’s looking like my spot will be healed enough not to affect our trip. If any more treatment on it is required, I will deal with it afterwards.
So, not knowing what the future holds, I’m trying to decide how to go forward again blogging until this little issue is resolved. Should I do flat lays of outfits (remember when those were so popular), headless photos, or just graphics of things I’m loving. I’m not sure yet? And of course, I can keep writing devotionals.
Just be assured that I’m not abandoning Dressed in Faith, and I will post as I can. Thank you so much for being patient with me and reading when I do get to post! I appreciate you so much!
