Hello! I’m finally back! I have had a crazy couple of weeks, and it feels great to be talking to you all again! I’ll have more to say on what’s been happening later in the post, but first I want to get to today’s topic on holiday party and hostess gifts.
Sometimes, we need a great hostess gift to show our appreciation when invited over to visit friends or family during the holidays. Other times, we often have a party to attend where everyone needs to bring a gift to exchange – think secret Santa or when drawing names.
The following are some ideas for gifts that will be much used and appreciated. There are no dirty Santa or gag gifts on this list – that would be whole different post. Ha!
Magnolia Table Cookbook – This is a beautiful cookbook for the chef in your life. I have this one and love it. Another option is this cookbook. I occasionally get to watch her cooking show. A lot of her recipes remind me of home. Have any of you seen it?
Throw – Who doesn’t love a gorgeous and soft throw?! We use them all the time at our house. This one comes in lots of colors. I’ve also heard great things about this throw too.
Avocado Slicer – This one is also great for the chef. I love this tool and use it often!
Scented Hand Soap – This is something you always need at the sink but don’t necessarily splurge on a nice scent.
Pocket Card Holder – A great gift for men that eliminates the need for carrying a bulky wallet. Another good gift for the man on your list is this magnetic wristband.
Satin Pillowcase – This is a great gift for any lady as well as these comfy socks.
Blessed & Thankful Mugs – These are not only great for coffee drinkers but also perfect for sipping hot chocolate, tea, and apple cider.
Kate Spade Earrings – A nice gift for a someone special that will go with everything.
Strawberry Watermelon Drink Mix – Use this mix in place of water added to a store bought white or yellow cake mix! It makes it moist and so flavorful! This is something we sampled in Williams Sonoma recently, and it was so good. Next thing I know, Jeffery is buying a bottle to take home. Definitely do not go in that store when you are hungry!
We also sampled this Spice Pecan Pumpkin Quick Bread and loved it too.
Monogrammed Slate Server – Are you just not sure what to get for your friends? This multipurpose cheese board would look great in about any style of kitchen.
Blokus Game – This is a great game for the whole family. In our household, we love to play games. This game is one of our faves!! In fact, we are known to be pretty competitive. We also like to play Dominoes which is a great game for a lot of players.
Cheese Knife Set – The set pictured above has sold out, but this one gets great reviews. It would make a great hostess gift.
As you’ve probably noticed, I have been away for a couple of weeks. First, I got sick with a bad cold – blah! Then, I’ve had some technical problems with trying to post here on the blog. While technical problems come up from time to time when running a website, I have thankfully been able to resolve them quickly in the past. That was not the case this time! I am not the most tech savvy, so I really started to panic when I could not figure out what was wrong! With lots of calls to my web host, I persisted though and finally got it figured out. Plus, I have hopefully learned a few things for the future.
In other news, I’ve got a big birthday coming up this week! If you want to know how old I’ll be, check out my bio where I’ve gone ahead and updated it with my age. Haha! I’ll talk more about that later, but for now have a lot of catching up to do!

Dianna, I love your blog. I’m looking for a silk shirt. No boob pockets. I’m a petite size 12 on top a 10 on the bottom. Looking for a white or green or red silk blouse. No black. Do not want to pay a arm and a leg for it. Any help would be great. Janet

The patterned one may not be what you are looking for, but I threw it in just in case – it’s really pretty and a lower price. The red one is gorgeous but got one bad review on fit. It is worth a look though. I often disagree with reviews!
