I’ve had extremely oily skin with rosacea since I was a teenager and always used makeup for combination/oily skin. Once I entered my late 40’s, my skin started to change. It is actually a little drier and a little bit dull. That’s when I decided to try Clinique Even Better Glow Makeup (the light reflecting formula) and the Beyond Perfecting Concealer. I’m really glad I did and am still using it now at 50!
In fact, I’ve used Clinique foundations and concealers for most of my life! It’s a great line if you have very sensitive skin. My mom introduced me to this brand, and her skin looked amazing!
Clinique Even Better Glow Makeup // Clinique Beyond Perfecting Concealer
At first, I was hesitant about trying this makeup. In spite of the changes, my skin can still get very oily sometimes. So, I worried about breakouts which I still have to deal with thanks to my rosacea. I also didn’t want my skin to get too oily looking during the day either.
This makeup does not make my skin break out at all! In fact, it claims to improve the appearance of your skin tone, and I do notice a difference. The light reflecting formula does give you a glow which I really like too – no more dull looking skin!
I don’t notice my skin looking too oily when wearing this foundation, but I do add a little loose powder to my nose, chin, and forehead if needed. I love the Clinique Blended face powder in the invisible blend.
This invisible blend powder will last forever, and I can easily switch out my foundation color if needed without buying a new powder. Of course, you can get the loose powder in a color too.
The Clinique Even Better Glow makeup is also more of a lightweight or sheer makeup which I like too. I do have large pores which is always a concern for me. I want good coverage without feeling like I have a lot of makeup on my face, and this one really works for that.
Plus, using a beauty blender with this makeup really helps perfect the flawless finish. I also think the damp blender feels so good on your face when applying your makeup!
In all of my pictures here on the blog, I’m using the this Clinique makeup. In fact, I use it every day I do my makeup!

I don’t want to end this post without talking about the Beyond Perfecting concealer too. I have pretty dark circles under my eyes and it does a great job of covering them up. I think it is one of the best concealers I’ve used on my fine under eye lines – it doesn’t settle into them! I also use it to cover up other imperfections too.
Clinique does offer an Even Better makeup without the light reflecting glow if you prefer. It works the same way to help improve your skin tone.
If you deal with really oily skin, I would still recommend my previous foundation. I wore it for years before switching to the Even Better Glow foundation.
