I’ve seen many discussions on social media regarding the pandemic and the end times, Jeffrey and I have taken several Bible studies on the book of Revelation. We have certainly discussed if this is the beginning of the end. I am sure others in the past who have lived through significant global events have had the same discussions.
The fact is we are living in the end times. Since the death of Christ and as time marches forward, we are ever moving closer to the end of this world as we know it. The Bible assures us it will come, but no one will ever know when it will actually be.
Of course, today, there are wars and rumors of wars. We have many natural disasters, famines, and plagues. The Bible says Satan will count and mark his victims. Evil seems to be ramping up to take its final stance, and God will unleash His full wrath on this fallen world. It all sounds really scary, doesn’t it?
Yet lately, I remember what my dad would tell me whenever we have talked about the book of Revelation. It does serve as a warning of what is to come. Yet for believers in Christ, Revelation is a book of great hope.
Battles will take place. God’s full wrath will be released upon the earth. Yet, we who have been sealed by Christ are not to fear. God’s battle is not against us but for us. Once the battle is done, justice will prevail. Persecution for our faith in Jesus will cease. Suffering and pain both emotionally and physically will end. Our minds, souls, and hearts will no longer be cut and scared by the sins of this world. Eternal peace will replace turmoil. We will be united with God and our Savior.
While we don’t know when or how it will all play out, we are assured of the final result. Jesus is victorious. You and I can have great hope even in the uncertainty and chaos of the times in which we are living. We have an incredible eternal life awaiting us that is better than we can ever imagine!
