I have talked here on the blog about how oily my hair has been for most of my life, but that is starting to change! I notice my hair is getting a lot dryer as I get older, especially on the ends. So recently, I decided to switch from my normal shampoo and conditioner to something with more hydration – enter the Biolage by Matrix Hydrasource line.

At first, I was a little hesitant to try an extra moisturizing shampoo and conditioner since my scalp can still get a little oily. But I do wash my hair most everyday – everyday that I’m leaving the house anyway – thanks to sweaty hot flashes and working out. So naturally, my hair gets a lot of heat from my blow dryer which probably dries out my ends. I’m sure I’m getting grayer too, and gray hair tends to be dryer. Plus, I’ve recently started using a curling iron more.
The verdict is I love what the Biolage Hydrasource shampoo and conditioner have done for my hair! It looks so much healthier – even my hair stylist commented on healthy my hair looked!
Biolage Thermal Active Spray | Biolage Hydrasource Detangling Solution
When I first purchased this shampoo and conditioner, I made the mistake of picking up the Biolage Hydrasource Detangling Solution thinking that was the matching conditioner to the Hydrasource shampoo. I was not in love with the detangling solution. I didn’t think it did a great job of detangling my hair. To be fair, I was not using a conditioner at the same time, and this is certainly not a good substitute for a regular conditioner. It may work best alongside your regular conditioner.
I also tried the Biolage Thermal Active Spray. I had high hopes for this spray and was so disappointed. It is very sticky which makes it hard to style your hair especially when blowdrying it. It really works like a heavy duty hairspray.

I still love using this heat tamer before drying and curling my hair. Plus, it’s a very budget friendly product.
So out of all these products I tried, I definitely can recommend the Biolage shampoo and conditioner and this heat tamer. They have definitely helped my hair.
