Today, I’m taking a casual dress from Old Navy and styling it two different ways. I’ve got lots of pictures with this post, and a helpful trick for making a knot in your summer tees. I even made a knot in this swing dress to change up the look.

This Old Navy Dress comes in several colors/patterns and is just under $15! I don’t usually wear a lot of jewelry, so for this look I decided to just let my tassel earrings (similar ones Here and Here) take center stage.
The Dress is very flowy so I thought I would try knotting it at the waist for a more fitted look.
You see a lot of tops right now that have a tie or knot at the waist. You can get that look by doing it yourself with any over sized tee or even a swing dress. For an easy way to achieve this look, I like to use a hair band. You could use any coordinating color or clear hair band color. I just gather a little material, pull it through the hair band, and wrap the band round it just like you make a ponytail in your hair.
I try to make it as loose as possible so it doesn’t stretch the material out, but also so it will stay put. Here is a closer look.

My hair band was actually dark brown which is what I had on hand at the time. The band usually doesn’t show very much, but you could match colors if you wanted.
Now for look number two, I just let the dress hang as it is.

The center piece for this look with the Swing Dress is my pendant necklace. Mine was a gift from my mother-in-law. She always brings us family members such pretty unique gifts when she travels! I’ve got many black and gold pendants linked in the widget above. A Black Tassel Necklace would also be pretty too.
For my shoes, I went with some lower heeled slides. Mine are older Clarks. I found these Black Clark Slides if you are a fan of their shoes.
Have a beautiful day!
