In this post, I’m sharing all the hair products I’m currently using on my new haircut including a review of the L’ange Brush Dryer.
Brush dryers have been around for a while, so I don’t know why it took me so long to try one?! My hair stylist recommended the L’ange Brush Dryer. I couldn’t be happier with it! It makes drying my thick hair so much easier and quicker now.
This brush dryer comes with a protective sleeve which is great for traveling. It also comes with a special cleaning tool that’s not pictured here. This brush dryer comes in two sizes and two colors. I have the 60 mm size. You can purchase it at Amazon and Walmart. You can also visit L’ange’s website where they run special discounts from time to time, but shipping is not free.

For years, I dried my hair using a separate blow dryer and brush. And I’m one of those people who washes their hair most every day. I’m not great at doing my hair and feel I can’t get it looking decent to go out without washing and styling with at least a hair dryer. Even when I’m staying home, I get very sweaty from hot flashes and working out. So, I end up washing my hair often.
While there was a little bit of a learning curve when I first used the L’ange Brush Dryer, I doubt I will ever go back to a separate dryer and brush again. It takes so much less time to fix my hair now compared to the old way. Plus, it gives you great volume and smooth soft hair. Brush dryers actually work better on damp hair. So, I do use my regular hair dryer to get it damp before styling with the brush dryer.

When purchasing this brush dryer, I noticed L’ange also has an array of hair products besides styling tools. Many of them get top reviews like the Rival Heat Shield. And I can see why. At first, I thought it could be sprayed on wet hair. However, it works best when sprayed on dry hair. I use it when I curl my hair with a curling iron. Rival Heat Shield holds my curl better than anything I’ve previously used.
While I might try some of L’ange’s heat sprays for wet hair like the L’ange Glass Hair Thermal Blowout Primer in the future, I’m sticking with an old favorite for now – Tresemme’s Heat Protection Spray. I use this each time I dry my hair. The L’ange Brush Dryer does have three heat settings. However, with my thick hair, I end up using the high setting which can get very hot. I don’t have a problem with heat damage using this spray.

One last product that I sometimes use now to style my hair is Tresemme’s Dry Texture Finishing Spray. It’s ironic that I use a dryer brush to smooth my hair with my new haircut. My layered cut is actually meant to look piecey and tossled to some degree. That’s where the textured hairspray comes in at the end.
Since I’ve gotten lots of compliments on the way I’m wearing my hair, I’ll end this post with the inspiration picture for my haircut.
I’ve worn my hair for some time all one length and sort of straight. I say “sort of” straight, because I fight my hair to lay down straight with the blow dryer. And I don’t want to take the time to use a straightening iron on top of that. While my hair is not naturally curly by any means, it does have a bit of movement to it. One side always wants to flip out while the other side doesn’t etc. So, I was tired of fighting it.
Also, my hair is super thick and takes a long time to dry. With this shorter layered cut and the brush dryer, it’s so much faster. I can dry it, fluff it with my fingers to get that piecey, tossled look and go. I love it! It’s so easy, and I don’t fight the natural texture of my hair.
