Today, I want to share some thoughts on being happy. I think about how often in my life I’ve sat around waiting to be happy. In doing so, I spend too much time focusing on the wrong things.
I think I will be happy when I finally get some material possession. I believe I will be happier when I achieve or meet certain personal goals. True happiness will surely come once this troublesome issue in my life is resolved.
The problem with waiting on these things is sometimes they may never come. If they do happen, will they really provide a lasting joy? There is always something else you may want or need, something else you may want to achieve, or another problem that comes along.
Life is too short to wait to be happy. Instead of waiting, I want to choose in my heart and mind to be happy now! There is always good and bad with each day. I can choose to focus on the good rather than the bad. I can focus on my faith in Christ and be grateful for His blessings.
The fact that God has given me life, lives within me, and promises me eternity should make my joy complete and make me happy.
Look to God and His Son each day for a joy and happiness that is everlasting.

But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful.
